Twelve more Covid patients died in the past 24 hours at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital on Tuesday, according to the district's health officials.
"Of the deceased, eight were Covid-19 positive while the others died with Covid-like-symptoms," said Saiful Ferdous, deputy director of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH).
With 58 new cases, a total of 325 people are currently undergoing Covid treatment at the hospital while 19 are in the ICU unit.
On Monday, 187 samples were tested in the hospital's lab and 371 in the PCR lab. Of these, 40 people were identified as Covid positive in the RMCH Lab and 137 in the PCR Lab.
As per the test ratio of the samples, the infection rate in Naogaon district is 47.25 per cent which is the highest in the division.
Apart from this, the infection rate in Natore is 33.33 per cent, 30.92 per cent in Rajshahi and 21.36 per cent in Chapainawabganj.
Overall, 191 people died at RMCH as of Tuesday.
