As many as 1,200 helpless and poor families in the city got saree, lungi and cash money as Eid gifts in a function on Thursday afternoon.
Directed by Bangladesh Awami Jubo League President Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and its General Secretary Alhaj Md Mainul Hossain Khan, former President of Rangpur District Chatra League Mehede Hasan Siddique Rony sponsored the distribution of the gifts with the assistance of District Awami League to help the distressed families celebrate the Eid-ul-Fitr festival.
Member of Awami League central committee and former lawmaker Advocate Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia distributed the Eid gifts in the function as the chief guest with Mehede Hasan Siddique Rony in the chair.
Convener of Rangpur City Awami League Dr Md Delwar Hossain, its Joint Convener Md Abul Kashem, Joint Conveners of District Awami League Professor Md Mazed Ali Babul and Advocate Md Anwarul Islam, were present as special guests.
Former member of District Jubo League Azizul Islam Murad, former Joint General Secretary of District Chhatra League Mustafa Parvez Zion, its former Organising Secretaries Adnan Hossain and Abu Hossain, former Publicity Secretary Moktar Elahi Murad, Joint General Secretary of City Chhatra League Marinul Mortuza Marin, former School Student Affairs Deputy Secretary Asaduzzaman Sajib, former Joint Secretary of Carmichael College Chhatra League Abdus Sobhan Sarkar, its former Assistant Secretary Prashant Roy, youth leaders Khairul Parvez Palash, Mahmudulur Rahman Abhi, Lutfur Rahman Bidyut, Raihan Kabir, Asaduzzaman Raja and Kajal, among others, were present.
