160 Bangladeshis, who were stranded in Malaysia due to the global coronavirus pandemic, have returned home on Wednesday. GD Assist, a subsidiary of Green Delta Insurance Company, arranged the evacuation of this group and brought them back.

The charter flight carrying the Bangladeshis along with a body landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at noon.

Bangladeshis stranded in Malaysia had contacted the Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia for the past few weeks to return home. GD Assist then started the process of bringing back these Bangladeshis in coordination with the high commission.

Syed Moinuddin Ahmed, managing director of GD Assist, said, "GD Assist is proud to have been able to continue its efforts to repatriate stranded Bangladeshis during this time of crisis."

He thanked the various government authorities for their immediate support and assistance in this regard.

Earlier in April, GD Assist also evacuated 48 Bangladeshis stranded in Bangkok of Thailand.

GD Assist is the largest healthcare management company of Bangladesh working in medical tourism for Bangladeshis.
