172 Bangladeshis among 213 detained in Malaysia

Malaysian Immigration Department Wednesday detained 213 undocumented migrants, including 172 Bangladeshis, from the construction site of a multi-storey building at Wangsa Maju in Setapak of Kuala Lumpur.

Among the detainees, three were women.

Earlier, Malaysian law enforcers conducted a joint operation at Wangsa Maju where a total of 254 foreign workers' documents were verified.

After the drive, 213 people were arrested for being involved in various crimes under the Immigration Act.

The detainees also include 20 Indonesian, 10 Pakistani, six Vietnamese, three Indian, and two Myanmarese nationals.
