On the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha, 19 makeshift cattle markets will be set up in Dhaka, selling sacrificial animals from July 17 to 21.
Of these, 10 cattle markets will be set up in Dhaka South City Corporation areas and 9 in Dhaka North City Corporation areas, according to the two city corporation sources.
Other than the 19 makeshift cattle markets, sacrificial animals will also be sold at permanent cattle markets in the city's Gabtoli and Sarulia areas, according to the sources.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh will celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Azha on July 21 amid an alarming spike in Covid-19 cases and deaths.
The country on Sunday witnessed its highest single-day Covid-19 deaths and infections by registering 230 more deaths and 11,874 cases.
The latest figures have pushed the local death toll to 16,419 and the caseload to 10,21,189, the Directorate General of Health Services said in a press release.
