Two police officers of the rank of additional deputy inspector general (DIG) have been sent to retirement now in the 'public interest'.
The Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs, in this regard, issued separate notifications signed by Senior Secretary Md Aminul Islam Khan on Monday.
The police officials were sent to retirement in the public interest as per Section 45 of the Public Service Act, 2018, the notification said.
The order comes into effect immediately.

The additional DIGs are Md Mahbub Hakim of the Tourist Police and Md Alamgir Alam of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Earlier, three superintendents of police (SPs) were sent to retirement citing public interest on October 18, just two days after the information and broadcasting secretary was shown the door.
