2 Bangladeshis shot dead in Athens

Two Bangladeshi migrant workers were shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Athens, Greece on Monday night.

The deceased were identified as -- Abdul Momin, 40, and Shahin Miah, 25; both hailed from Kamrakhai village in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj.

Greece Chamber of Commerce and Industries Joint General Secretary Motabbir Hossain confirmed the news early Wednesday.

Both the deceased worked as guards of a container in the Aspergo area of the Greek capital, he said, adding that one of them was shot in the head and another in the neck by miscreants at some point during the night of September 14.

Athens police recovered the bodies from the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.

The process of sending the bodies to Bangladesh is underway, said Motabbir Hossain.
