Two employees of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) were killed and 6 others injured in a road accident at Bandarban on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as Wahid and Hamidul Islam.
Confirming the matter to The Business Post, andarban Additional Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Pal said Eight security staff of BUET came from Dhaka to visit Bandarban.
“The accident occurred when the driver of the vehicle lost control over the steering at around 10.30am and fell into the ditch about 400 feet below,” he added .
The crash left one person dead on the spot, he said, adding that the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals and clinics.
"Of the injured, one died on way to the hospital”.
The injured are being treated at Bandarban Sadar Hospital, the ASP informed.
