The bus came under arson attack at Nightingale intersection of the area at 12:53pm on Thursday, confirmed Talha Bin Zashim, station officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (media cell).

2 covered vans torched in Gazipur

Culprits set fire to two covered vans on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Salna in Gazipur city early today, during the ongoing blockade called by BNP and like-minded opposition parties.

Abdus Samad, station officer of Gazipur Fire Service, said blockade supporters, in a private car and motorbike, intercepted the two cotton-carrying covered vans at 5:30 am at Salna and set those on fire by pouring petrol on them.

On a tip-off, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze. No one was injured during the attack.
