At least two people were killed and three others injured when a log-laden truck overturned on the Mahalchari-Jaliyapara road in the Guimara upazila of Khagrachari early on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Raju, 35, and Ilias, 36, two workers from Gacchabil village in Manikchari upazila.
The accident occurred around 7:00am when the truck driver lost control of the overloaded vehicle, police said.
"The truck overturned near the Toikarma area, leaving the two workers travelling in the vehicle died on the spot," said Rashid, officer-in-charge of Guimara police station.
The injured were first taken to Manikchari upazila health complex. "From there, two of them were shifted to the Chattogram Medical College and Hospital. Their condition is critical," said the OC.
