Two people were arrested along with unauthorised network boosters and walkie-talkie sets in Dhaka on Friday.
The Enforcement and Inspection Directorate of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted a joint drive in Tejgaon’s Purbo Tejturipara and Dhanmondi areas and apprehended them, the BTRC said in a Facebook post.
During the raids, six network boosters, six boosters with indoor antenna, six boosters with outdoor antenna, and two sets of walkie-talkie were seized.
The arrested were prosecuted under the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Act, 2001, it said.
