Two people were injured in an explosion at a mess in Dhaka’s Tejgaon area on Friday night.
The incident took place on the second floor of a six-storey building at Purbo Tejturi Bazar around 9:00pm, said Dewan Azad, duty officer at the control room of Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Two residents of the mess housed on that floor got injured in the incident, he said.
The reason behind the explosion could not be known immediately, Azad added.
The injured, one of them identified as Yasin Talukder, 31, were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, said Tejgaon police station Sub-Inspector Abdul Mannan.
The explosion took place at the room where the duo was staying, he said.
Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police went to the spot, the police official added.
