Two persons were killed and 40 others injured in a road accident at Basail of Narsingdi Poura town on Sunday night.
The deceased were identified as Nurul Islam, 50, son of Abul Monnaf, a resident of Sylhet and Nur Uddin, 45, son of Idirsh Ali hailed from Habiganj, reports BSS.
Police said the accident occurred on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway after midnight when a Sylhet-bound bus fell down from an overpass as its driver lost control over the vehicle, leaving its passenger Nurul Islam dead on the spot and injuring 41 others.
The injured were sent to Zila Hospital where Nur Uddin succumbed to his injuries.
Among the injured, 10 persons were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition, said Dr Md Zakir Hossain, medical officer of Zila Hospital.
