Two workers, who suffered burn injuries during a fire at City Auto Rice Mill in Narayanganj on Saturday, died at a Dhaka hospital on Sunday.

Of the deceased, Hazrat Ali, 25, breathed his last around 10:00 pm Saturday, while another victim, Belayet Hossain, 59, passed away around 9:00am on Sunday, while being treated at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Dr Aiyub Hossain, resident surgeon, Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery confirmed the matter to The Business Post.

Hazrat had 99 per cent burn injuries on his body and Belayet suffered from 95 per cent burn injuries, he added.

Another injured Sirajul Islam, 60, is in a critical state at the burn institute with 65 per cent burn injuries.

Earlier on Saturday, a fire broke out at City Auto Rice & Dal Mill at the Rupshi area of Rupganj in Narayanganj.

Later, five units of firefighters managed to bring it under control around 5:30 pm, said Tanharul Islam, deputy director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense.
