Two Rohingyas were shot dead during a gunfight between two armed groups at Ukhiya camp in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased were Shamshu Alam, 23, son of Abdul Hamid of Camp No 7, and Nur Mohammad, 17, son of Salim of D-4 block of Camp-2/E.
The incident took place around 4:30pm at Palangkhali Camp-6, said Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ukhiya police station.
The police suspected that the crime happened to establish supremacy in the refugee camp.
Members of law enforcement agencies are working to arrest those involved in the murder, the OC said.
The bodies were sent to Cox's Bazar General Hospital for autopsy, he added.
