2 trains on Dhaka-Bhanga-Rajbari route inaugurated

Railways Minister Md Zillul Hakim today launched two commuter trains on Dhaka-Bhanga-Rajbari route to ease the communication between the capital city Dhaka and Rajbari.

He introduced 'Bhanga commuter train' on Dhaka-Bhanga route and 'Chandrana commuter train' on Bhanga-Rajbari route in a programme at Shibchar in Madaripur, reports BSS.

In the inauguration ceremony, the minister said: "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken up the plan to reach the rail-communication system at people's doorsteps. We will launch another train on this route in the future."

Another train will be launched on Dhaka-Jessore route within the next two months, he said, adding that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to inaugurate the train.

The railway minister said that a railway line will be built from Bhanga to Payra port via Barisal.

"It will include eight districts. But the soil of this area is not good, so the entire line will be elevated," he added.

Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury attended the programme as the special guest with Bangladesh Railway Director General Sardar Shahadat Ali in the chair.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Railways Ministry ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury was also present on the occasion.
