Two hundred more buses under the Dhaka Nagar Paribahan services will start carrying passengers on three new routes in the capital from September 1.

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh made the announcement after the 23rd meeting of the Bus Route Rationalisation Committee (BRRC) at Nagar Bhaban on Tuesday.

Taposh, also the BRRC chairman, said 50 buses under Ovi Motors will ply Route 22, 100 buses from Hanif Enterprise Route 23, and 50 double-deckers of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) on Route 26.

“If Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader gives consent, we will launch the services on the three new routes on September 1 keeping him as the chief guest."
