A 20km long tailback was created on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge Highway, causing immense sufferings to the Eid holidaymakers and the transport workers on Thursday.
The tailbacks reached Rabna Bypass in Tangail from the eastern end of Bangabandhu Bridge due to the pressure of increased number of vehicles on the highway ahead of Eid-ul-Azha to be celebrated on July 10.
Elenga highway police outpost in-charge Ataur Rahman said several vehicles went out of order and some minor accidents took place in the early hours of Thursday.
