A 21-year-old named Nur Hossain was fatally stabbed last night in Sadar upazila of Jashore, reportedly due to a dispute stemming from a local football match. Nur, on of Nazrul Mollah from the Shangkarpur Akbar Mor area, got involved in a clash between two teams that escalated dangerously.

Witnesses described the situation unfolding on Friday night when tensions between the teams reached a breaking point. Although the initial conflict appeared resolved through community intervention, the animosity resumed shortly after, leading to a more sinister outcome.

Nur was attacked around 8:30 pm by individuals identified only as Pocha, Kana Roni, Riyad, and Monir, following the earlier altercation, explained an eyewitness. The attackers allegedly confined Nur in a house within his neighbourhood, where he was later discovered by locals responding to his cries for help.

Upon rescue, Nur was urgently transported to Jashore General Hospital. The severity of his abdominal injuries prompted doctors to recommend an immediate transfer to a higher facility in Dhaka. Sadly, Nur succumbed to his injuries en route.

Officer-in-Charge Abdur Razzak of Kotwali Police Station provided confirmation of the incident, saying that legal actions are already being prepared against those responsible.
