Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 2.1-kg heroin and 5,700 pieces of yaba tablet from Chapainawabganj frontier Saturday night.
A patrol team of BGB from Kamalpur border outpost, on detective information, conducted a raid in the frontier Dautatbari area about 100 yards inside Bangladesh territory from the border at around 10:30pm and saw a group of smugglers coming from the Indian side, BGB said.
But sensing the presence of BGB the smugglers fled away into India leaving a bag.
After searching the bag BGB found the heroin and the yaba tablets, the sources added.
