Twenty-six patients died of Covid-19 in Bangladesh in the 24 hours till 8:00 am on Friday, bringing its tally to 12,310, according to a release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services.
Besides, 1,504 people tested positive for the virus taking the caseloads to 7,86,698.
The toll of recoveries rose to 7,29,039 with 1,529 people got cured of the virus in the 24 hours pushing the rate of recoveries at 92.67 per cent.
According to the DGHS, the rate of positivity now stands at 13.58 per cent and mortality rate at 1.56 per cent.
The country is currently under a nationwide lockdown which is scheduled to continue till May 23, as part of the measures taken to tackle a second wave of the virus pandemic.
