Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday arrested three members of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) in connection with Maj (Retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan murder case.

They were identified as — Shahjahan, Rajib and Abdullah.

Lt Col Ashiq Billah, director (legal and media wing) of RAB, confirmed the information to The Business Post, adding that the three were arrested Tuesday morning.

Ten days' remand for each will be sought after producing them before the court, he said.

A total of ten people have been arrested so far in the murder case to date.

Maj (retd) Sinha was reportedly killed in a police firing at Shamlapur checkpost of Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive Road in Baharchhara on the night of July 31.

The deceased’s sister Shahriar Sharmin, as a plaintiff, lodged a case on August 5 accusing nine people including Teknaf Police Station's former Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pradeep Kumar Das and Baharchara police investigation centre in-charge Liakat Ali.
