Three Bangladeshi students at the University of Manitoba died Thursday morning (local time) after two cars collided head-on north of Winnipeg in Canadian province of Manitoba.
The deceased were identified as—Aditya Noman, Aranur Asad Chowdhury and Rasul Badhan—all aged between 23-25 and were final year students at the University of Manitoba.
A northbound car and a southbound car collided just before 6:30 am on Highway 7, about 10 kilometres south of the Interlake community of Arborg, said Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
“The southbound vehicle had the three students in it. All were pronounced dead at the scene”
A 53-year-old woman from the rural municipality of Armstrong was in the northbound car. She received serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital in Winnipeg.
Arborg is about 115 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
