Three people were burnt in a gas cylinder explosion at a restaurant near the Holy Crescent hospital under Chattogram city's Khulshi thana on Monday.
The victims were identified as Abul Kashem, 17, Nur Hossain, 20, and Mubinul Haque, 22.
Confirming the fire incident, officer-in-charge of Khulshi thana Santosh Kumar Chakma said the injured workers were admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
The manager of the restaurant Gulzar Ahmed told journalists that the gas cylinder exploded suddenly, leaving the three workers injured while they were cooking food at around 11am early Monday.
However, other workers and waiters working in the restaurant were able to extinguish the fire before it spread.
On information, a firefighting team reached the spot and started investigating the cause behind the explosion, he added.
