The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) is going to organise a second three-day jewellery fair at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka on February 9.

Uttam Banik, chairman of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Fair and Event Management, made the announcement at a press briefing at the association office in Bashundhara city on Tuesday.

The organisers are expecting that the “Bajus Fair 2023” fair will contribute to the prosperity of the domestic jewellery industry and jewellery industry as well as create a new position in the global market. The familiarity with new modern design ornaments made by goldsmiths of the country will increase.

About 50 jewellery firms will participate in the fair, which will remain open to buyers and visitors every day from 10am to 9pm, organisers said.

Jewellery companies will participate in 8 pavilions, 12 mini pavilions and 30 stalls in the fair.

A ticket is a must to enter the fair and the fee will be Tk 100 per person. Children up to 5 years of age do not need a ticket. There will be a raffle draw for the buyers at the fair.

Customers will collect the raffle draw coupon from the stalls from which they will purchase ornaments. Besides, jewellery companies are offering special discounts to attract the attention of buyers and visitors.

Uttam Banik said, “We hope that the fair will play a role in enriching the domestic jewellery industry and creating a new position for Bangladesh in the global market.”
