3-day non-fiction book fair ends at DU

A three-day non-fiction book fair started on Tuesday at the business Education faculty premises of Dhaka University, concluding Thursday with the participation of renowned publishers.

State Minister of Cultural Affairs KM Khalid was present as the chief guest of the closing ceremony. Earlier DU Vice-Chancellor Prof ASM Maksud Kamal inaugurated the book fair last Tuesday.

Faculty of Business Education of DU and National Daily Banik Barta jointly organised the fair for the 7th time.

The state minister at the book fair thanked all those involved in the book fair and declared the end of the fair.

"Amar Ekushey Book Fair is the largest book fair in the world. Millions of people are involved with this fair. Today's book fair (non-fiction book fair) has the impact of Ekushey Book Fair." KM Khalid said.

“Shareing Ganges Water” written by Prof Asif Nazrul Islam and “Plato Provesica” written by Aminul Islam Bhuiyan selected for "non-fiction book award" in the fair.

The non-fiction book fair premises were open to all from 10am to 8pm daily. A total of 39 publishing and research organisations participated in the fair this year.

DU Pro VC (Administration) Prof Muhammad Samad was present as the special guest at the closing ceremony while Dean of Business Faculty Prof. Muhammad Abdul Moin and Publisher and Editor Dewan Hanif, among others.
