Three people sustained injuries in a bomb attack in Khulna city’s Khan Jahan Ali area on Friday night.
The injured — Jahirul Islam Laltu, 40, son of Rahman, Shahidul Islam Tena, 38, son of late Shahidul Islam, and Sagar, 35, son of Md Ashraf Rustom — are from Gilatala area under Khan Jahan Ali police station.
Locals said the trio was having tea at a stall at a colony near Sabuj Palli Eidgah around 9:30pm.
All of a sudden they heard a big bang when some miscreants hurled a bomb targeting the trio — leaving them injured, they said.
Md Kamal Hossain Khan, officer-in-charge of Khan Jahan Ali police station, said the law enforcers rushed to the spot and rescued the three men.
The injured are now receiving treatment at Khulna Medical College and Hospital, he said, adding that legal actions will be taken in this connection after an investigation.
The reason for the attack could not be known immediately, the OC added.
