Three workers have sustained burn injuries in a fire at a rice mill in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj on Saturday afternoon.  

Five firefighting units brought the flames under control after two hours.

The injured are Belayet Hossain, 65, son of late Abdul Karim of Gandharbpur area of ​​Rupganj and Mohammad Ali, son of late Taher Ali of the same area. Siraj (50) and Hazrat Ali (40), son of late Suryat Ali. 

They were sent to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery after the initial treatment at US Bangla Medical College Hospital in Rupganj.

Tanharul Islam, sub-assistant director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defence confirmed the matter to The Business Post and said, that the fire broke out in a warehouse inside the rice mill.

Primarily it is believed that the fire started due to excess heat generated inside the warehouse.

He also added that there was a broiler next to the warehouse but the broiler was intact.
