Three people have been killed and 15 others injured in a fire that broke out at a market in Ashulia of Savar.
According to fire service sources, the fire broke out on the ground floor of three-storey Rupayan Mart building around 5.16 pm on Wednesday.
“We have recovered three charred bodies from Uniworld Footwear factory inside the building," Shahjahan Sikder, deputy assistant director (media cell) of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, confirmed the matter to UNB.
The injured people were sent to a nearby hospital, he also added. However, the identities of the deceased were not immediately known.
On information, ten firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 6:18 pm.
