Three people were killed in a road accident in Burichang upazila of Cumilla on Saturday morning.
The accident took place on Cumilla-Sylhet regional highway in Mainamoti area around 6:00am.
Locals said a Cumilla-bound truck laden with rocks from Sylhet hit a rickshaw in front of Mainamoti Union Parishad.
The rickshaw-puller and his two passengers died on the spot.
Two of the deceased were identified as Ismail Hossain, the rickshaw-puller, of Cumilla, and Abdul Ahad, a resident of Habiganj.
Mainamoti highway police said they seized the truck and detained three people, including the driver and his assistant.
The bodies were sent to morgue.
