3 more Omicron cases detected in Bangladesh

Three new cases of Omicron variant of the Covid-19 have been reported in Bangladesh raising the number to 10.

The Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID) on Friday reported that among the new patients, two are females, aged 49 and 65, while another is a 65-year-old male.

All of them were from Dhaka, according to the data submitted by the Institute for Developing Science and Health Initiatives (ideSHi) in Dhaka.

On December 11, Bangladesh for the first time detected the Omicron variant of coronavirus in two female cricketers of the national women’s cricket team, who had returned from Zimbabwe.

Bangladesh for the first time detected a coronavirus case on March 8, 2020 and declared first death on March 18, 2020.
