A Cox’s Bazar court on Wednesday placed three more suspects on three-day remand each in a case filed over the murder of Rohingya leader Mohibullah.

Cox’s Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah passed the order after the Rohingya suspects — Abdus Salam, 32, Ziaur Rahman, 30, and Md Ilias, 35 — were produced before the court.

Chandan Kumar Chakrobarty, inspector of the court, said police produced Salam and Rahman before the court on Sunday and Ilias on Monday. They sought seven days to interrogate the three under their custody.

The court, however, set Wednesday for the remand hearing after sending them to jail, he added.

Earlier on Sunday, the same court placed two other suspects — Mohammad Selim alias ‘Lomba Selim’ and Shawkat Ullah — on three-day remand in the murder case.

Unknown assailants gunned down Mohibullah in his office at Kutupalang camp in Ukhiya on September 29.

Mohibullah’s brother Habibullah filed a case the next day with Ukhiya police station, accusing unidentified people of killing his brother.
