Three newborns have died hours after their birth at a hospital in Barishal.
They died around 11:30pm on Saturday at Hizla Upazila Health Complex, only six hours after their birth.
Selina Begum, wife of Faruq Bepari of Kalikapur village under the upazila, gave birth to three sons seven months into pregnancy in the afternoon.
“The newborns were underweight and suffering from breathing difficulties,” said Dr Shahraj Hayat, resident medical officer of the health complex.
“We tried our best to save them but there were multiple complexities,” he said.
The newborns were buried at their family graveyard on Sunday morning.
