Three newspapers, belonging to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina's Press Secretary Nayeemul Islam Khan have shut their doors indefinitely.

The publications of Amader Notun Shomoy, Amader Orthoneeti, and Our Time have been suspended indefinitely, daily Amader Notun Shomoy Executive Editor Sohel Biplob told the media on Friday.

He added, “On August 5 at 10:30pm, miscreants attacked the offices of Amader Notun Shomoy, Amader Orthoneeti, and Our Time newspapers. They ransacked the offices thoroughly, and looted important equipment.”

It should be noted that miscreants had attacked the offices of Ekattor Television, Somoy Television, ATN Bangla and ATN News soon after former prime minister Sheikh Hasina left Bangladesh.

Besides, the building of private television DBC News was attacked in Mohakhali Wireless Gate area.

The same night, vehicles parked under the Independent Television office in Tejgaon was vandalised as well. When the angry mob tried to enter that office, security personnel stopped them.

Apart from this, on the night of August 4, the office of the music channel Gun Bangla was attacked, vandalised and set on fire.
