A three-storey building tilted in Sadarghat area of Chattogram city on Monday night, causing widespread alarm in the area.
The inhabitants of the tilted building, along Majhirghat Parbarti Pukur (pond) in the area, have already been evacuated, Chittagong Fire Service & Civil Defence Assistant Director Faruq Hossain Shikdar told The Business Post on Tuesday.
“The building tilted towards the adjacent building due to an ongoing excavation and construction work of a drainage project. It can collapse any moment,” said the official.
Two temples, a tin-shed house, and some shanties in the vicinity are also at risk of collapse, he added.
