Police have recovered 31 crude bombs from an under-construction building in Sector-10 of the capital’s Uttara on Friday night.
The bomb disposal unit have defused the bombs, confirmed AKM Hafiz Akter, additional commissioner at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Earlier at noon, police arrested two people identified as Mamun and Sumon in connection with a case filed over cocktail explosion outside a voting center at Maleka Banu Adarsha Bidyaniketan in Uttara during voting for Dhaka-18 by-polls on November 12.
After gathering information from the duo, teams of Detective Branch (DB) of police and Uttara West Police Station raided the building in Road-13 of Uttara Sector-10 in the afternoon and recovered the 31 bombs.
Legal action is being taken against the two arrestees, said DMP additional commissioner Hafiz Akter.
