32 patients died from Covid-19 in the country over the last 24 hours as of Saturday, taking the death toll to 3,365.
Besides, 2,611 more people tested positive for the virus, which makes 255,113 confirmed cases in total.
Additional Director General (Admin) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr Nasima Sultana revealed the information at a regular online briefing on Saturday afternoon.
Dr Nasima mentioned that a total of 11530 samples were collected and 11737 tested in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 1249507 samples have been tested in the country.
With 1020 new recoveries, a total of 146604 patients recovered from coronavirus to date.
The deceased, of whom 25 were males and seven females, belonged to the following age groups: one was between 21-30 years, four were between 41-50 years, 12 between 51-60 years, 10 between 61-70, four were between 71-80 and one was between 81-90 years of age.
Under division-wise categorisation, 16 of the deceased hailed from the Dhaka division, five from Khulna, four each from Chattogram and Rajshahi, two from Sylhet and one was from the Barishal Division.
31 of the deceased breathed their last while undergoing treatment at various hospitals and the remaining one died at home.
Meanwhile, the global death toll from the novel coronavirus infection reached 719,805 as of Saturday morning, according to the data provided by the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University.
Moreover, 19,295,350 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed around the world.
So far, 11,681,405 people have recovered.
