Bangladesh registered 34 Covid-19 deaths in the 24 hours till 8:00am on Wednesday, according to a release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services.
With the new deaths, the Covid-19 fatalities rose to 12,694 in the country.
Besides, 1,988 people tested positive for the virus during the same period taking the caseloads to 8,04,293.
In the meantime, the toll of recoveries rose to 7,44,065 with 1,914 patients got cured of the disease in the 24 hours taking the overall recovery rate at 92.51 percent, said the directorate.
The rate of positivity now stands at 9.81 per cent for the last 24 hours while the mortality rate is 1.58 per cent.
The government on May 30 extended the Covid-19 lockdown till June 6 as part of the initiatives to curb a second wave of the pandemic.
