4 killed in Bogura bus collision

Four persons were killed and 10 others injured after two buses collided face-to-face on the Dhaka-Bogura Highway in Sherpur Upazila of Bogura early Saturday.

Identities of the deceased are still awaited.

Ratan Hossain, station officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence, Sherpur, confirmed the matter to the media.

The injured have been sent to Bogura’s Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMCH), he said.

A Dhaka-bound bus of Nabil Paribahan collided face-to-face with another bus of Drishty Paribahan in Dosh Mile area of Sherpur around 2am, leaving two of the passengers dead on the spot.

Later, two more passengers succumbed to their injuries, said Ratan.

The two buses have been seized. Efforts are on to identify the victims, said Dosh Mile police outpost in-charge Baniul Alam.
