Four people, including two children, have been killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Chirirbandar upazila of Dinajpur.
The accident took place in the Shibpuri area on the Dinajpur-Phulbari highway of the upazila around 10:30 am on Thursday. The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, confirmed Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chirirbandar police station Bajlur Rashid.
According to locals, a Phulbari-bound passenger bus named Kaya Paribahan had a head-on collision with an autorickshaw coming from the opposite side, killing the children on spot. The children are approximately 10 to 12 years old.
Four injured, including the autorickshaw driver, were rushed to Dinajpur's M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital where two of them died while undergoing treatment.
