4 killed in Cumilla road accident

At least four people were killed and four others injured as a bus hit a CNG-run autorickshaw in Monoharganj upazila of Cumilla on Saturday morning.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The accident took place on Cumilla-Noakhali regional highway in Natherpetua Puran Bazar area.

Sub-Inspector Md Zafar Iqbal, in-charge of Natherpetua police outpost, said a Dhaka-bound bus of Himachal Paribahan from Noakhali rammed the CNG-run autorickshaw around 10:45am.

Four passengers of the autorickshaw died in the accident.

The injured were sent to Cumilla Medical College and Hospital, he added.

Police said they seized the two vehicles but the bus driver and his assistant fled the scene.
