Four people were dead and six were injured as a human hauler plunged into a roadside pond after being hit by a bus on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Sadar upazila of Manikganj Wednesday.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
“The accident occurred at 8:30am at Bhatbaur when the human hauler plunged into a roadside pond after being hit by a bus while picking and dropping off passengers -- leaving four dead on the spot,” said Abdur Rauf, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
The six injured were taken to a local hospital from where two were moved to Manikganj District Hospital and Dhaka Medical College Hospital, as their condition were stated to be critical.
Divers from the local fire service station rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
