Bangladesh on Tuesday recorded 41 deaths in the 24 hours till 8:00 am, according to the routine press release by the Directorate General of Health Services.

The latest death toll has taken the total fatalities to 12,660.

Besides, 1,765 people tested positive for the virus during the same period pushing the caseload to 8,02,305.

In the meantime, total recoveries rose to 7,42,151 with 1,779 patients cured of the disease in the 24 hours taking the rate of recoveries at 92.50 per cent, said the directorate.

The rate of positivity now stands at 9.67 per cent in the last 24 hours, while the mortality rate is 1.58 per cent.

The ongoing lockdown till 30 May has been extended to 6 June to tackle the second wave of Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh.
