A 4.4-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale jolted Sylhet and its adjoining areas this afternoon.
"The earthquake was felt at 4.18pm (16 hours 18 minutes 31 seconds BST)," said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
The earthquake's epicentre was in India’s Assam, 263 km away from the Dhaka Seismic Centre, said BMD.
There was no report of casualties or damage.
