44 police personnel killed during violence

The police force on Sunday released a list of 44 personnel who were killed during the quota reform movement.

According to the list, released by the Police Headquarters media wing, the deceased personnel include 21 constables, 1 naik, 7 assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), an additional sub-inspector (ATSI), 11 sub-inspectors (SIs), and 3 inspectors.

The Police Headquarters stated that 24 of the police personnel were killed on August 5, 14 were killed on August 4, and the remaining officers were killed on various dates during the protests.

Among the deceased, 14 were from Dhaka Metropolitan Police, 15 from Enayetpur Police Station in Sirajganj, 2 from Sonaimuri Police Station in Noakhali, 2 from Titas Police Station in Cumilla, 1 from Kachua Police Station in Chandpur, 1 from Baniachong Police Station in Habiganj, 1 from the Special Branch in Dhaka, 1 from PBI in Narayanganj, 1 from the Tourist Police Headquarters, 1 from Highway Police in Cumilla, 1 from Kasba Police Station in Brahmanbaria, 1 from Khulna Metropolitan Police, 1 from Gazipur Metropolitan Police, and 2 from Dhaka District Police.
