5.1 magnitude earthquake jolts Dhaka

A 5.1 magnitude earthquake shook the capital and other parts of the country on Sunday afternoon.

The epicentre of the moderate earthquake was in the India-Myanmar border region, about 279 km East of capital Dhaka, said Abdul Hamid, meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

The tremor was felt at 4:46pm, said the official.

However, no causalities were reported yet.
