Five people were killed and three others injured as two trucks collided face-to-face on Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Tangail Sadar Upazila early Tuesday.
Identities of the victims couldn’t be known immediately.
Tangail District Fire Service Assistant Director Zulfiqur confirmed the news to The Business Post.
He said a North Bengal bound truck collided head-on with another truck on the highway in Gharinda area of the upazila around 6am, leaving five people dead on the spot and three others injured.
The injured have been admitted to Tangail General Hospital. The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the same hospital’s morgue, added the Fire Service official.
