5 killed in Khulna road crash

Five people, including two women and one child, died and two others were injured in a collision between a brick-laden truck and a three-wheeler easybike in Dumuria upazila of Khulna on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were easybike driver Biswajit Biswas, 30, passengers Sabbir Moral, 23, Nipa Dali, 25, a 26-year-old unidentified woman and two-year-old Aumbi Biswas, hailing from several areas of the upazila.

Dumuria Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sukanta Saha confirmed the matter.

The accident happened around 3:30pm when the vehicles collided head-on in Angardoha village in Kharniya union of the upazila, leaving two dead on the spot and five others critically injured.

They were rushed to the Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared the other three dead, said the OC, adding that the rest are now undergoing treatment.
