The interim government has appointed five officials – who previously retired from the post of additional secretary – as secretaries on a contractual basis. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Saturday.
According to the notification, these retired additional secretaries have been appointed on contract for a period of two years from the date of their joining, on condition of terminating working relationships with other institutions and organisations.
Sheikh Abdur Rashid has been appointed secretary to the Secondary and Higher Education Division; Md Ehsanul Haque to the Road Transport and Highways Division; Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen to the Public Security Division; Dr Nasimul Gani to the Public Division of the President's Office and MA Akmal Hossain Azad to the of railways ministry.
The interim government, which took over after the fall of Awami League government, recently terminated the contractual appointments of several secretaries. Besides, several secretaries were transferred to other ministries or divisions.
