The Rapid Action Battalion arrested 36 brokers from the BRTA and 15 others from the passport office in Keraniganj, Dhaka.
Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) are conducting a joint operation against the brokers.
A separate team of RAB-10 started the operation simultaneously in collaboration with the BRTA and passport authorities from 10:30am on Sunday.
RAB Executive Magistrate Mazharul Islam conducted the mobile court at the passport office.
RAB-10 Assistant Director (Media), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Enayet Kabir Soheb confirmed the matter.
He said many people had complained of being harassed by the brokers at the BRTA and passport office in Keraniganj.
“The operation is being conducted today based on such specific allegations. Details will be announced at the end of the drive”, he added.
